I’ve always expressed great love for Tone It Up (see my articles about Love Your Body && getting to meet them). This new year in accords with their new Tone It Up challenge, they released four amazing new workouts! These workouts must be purchased for download. TIU is great because it has so many free workouts and content available without the need to buy, so I understand the hesitation in purchasing anything on top of that. I ended up getting the workouts for Christmas in an amazing bundle! (Thanks, boyfriend!) I decided to do a little review to help anyone on the fence decide whether these workouts might be right for them.
The exclusive workouts includes four workout videos 20-30 minutes long, as well as four printables that are completely different workouts. All of these workouts have been referenced to & used during the Tone It Up challenge. Here’s the low down!
- Body Bliss — 21 minutes long — Requires dumbbells (5-10lbs) — This workout is a fine toning workout that channels a lot of yoga poses. It’s certainly got some unique moves not in a lot of other TIU workouts online. I usually get the best burn in my hamstrings and arms!
- Tone HIIT Up — 20 minutes long — Requires dumbbells (5-10 lbs) — So, I love this workout, don’t get me wrong. But I just feel like it’s not as challenging as some other TIU HIITs. (Ie, Ultimate Bootycall, HIITy Bitty Bikini). I also don’t always love doing squat jumps, burpees, etc. Oftentimes I get shin splints or other aches & pains from doing these on my hardwood floors. (I’m a wimp, I know!) But it’s definitely a good toning session — just not my favorite.
- Booty & Abs — 32 minutes long — Requires dumbbells (5-10 lbs), optional kettlebell — This workout BURNS y’all! Honestly it is 75-80% booty, which I love. I definitely had the sorest hamstrings for like four days after I did this for the first time! I love the longer videos, they are just much more than you can get out of a Youtube video workout if you ask me.
- Tone, Burn, & Flow — 29 minutes long — Requires dumbbells (5-10 lbs) — This one is my FAVORITE! It starts out like a normal yoga flow, and then the music shifts, and bam! It’s a sweaty workout! I actually did this one as a morning workout when traveling for residency interviews. I didn’t bring weights with me, and it was still a great burn. Definitely a total body toner and an amazing way to start your day!
The four printables are also a different total body workout, a separate HIIT, a booty only workout, and an abs sequence (holy OBLIQUES on that one!). They are great for traveling and some require dumbbells. Personally I do better with videos because they limit my break time..
These were a great purchase in my opinion. The workouts definitely have a more yoga flow feel which I am definitely digging so far this year. The two longer ones definitely get you burning super great! All in all, I definitely recommend. The workouts are available for purchase separately here for $25 or with a bundle of tons of Tone It Up goodies here!
